Review of the exhibition by  Fleur Tookey, a glass artist, PSAD Friends committee.

This hidden gem of a gallery, free and only open from January till April, is always a treat to visit. The building belonged to the Astor family and was probably thought rather ostentatious at the time it was built in 1895 and is worth looking at anyway.

The current show is a fascinating snap shot of many forms of glass making over the past 200 years or so. Covering stained glass, including a beautiful piece by John Piper, engraved, etched, cast and blown work from the 20th Century and culminating in several contemporary conceptual pieces which deserve thought and admiration.
There are very informative videos showing some of the different processes, and for those with a deeper interest, listen to Start The week on Radio 4 Monday 29 th January.
