JANETTE FRY – PORCELAIN

Porcelain is the clay that many pottery students are apprehensive about given its reputation as a ‘difficult’ clay to manage. Potter Janette Fry, who is known for her beautiful, whimsical porcelain vessels, will demonstrate the variety of ways in which porcelain can be mastered. She combines throwing, slabbing and hand building techniques together with mark making and even tearing the clay to achieve her beautiful forms. This course is suitable for both throwers and hand builders.

MELANIE BELLIS – MONOPRINTING

We are excited to offer a Monoprinting workshop with Melanie Bellis RE, artist and printmaker. Melanie is well known for her atmospheric prints of urban and industrial subjects. Her work has been exhibited across the UK and internationally and is held in several collections including the Ashmolean, V&A and British Museums. She will demonstrate using Monoprinting as an expressive way to explore and develop your ideas and by using a range of techniques, first working in a single colour and then learning to use multiple colours. This course is suitable for beginners or those wanting to refresh their skills and try out new approaches.
