To celebrate Wandsworth being nominated the Borough of Culture 2025, the Friends of PSAD are delighted to announce a new project, open to all students and tutors.
The plan is to create a series of beautiful, colourful tiled panels which will be displayed around both PSAD sites and in the entrance of Oxford Road. These will be professionally assembled and installed to enhance the ‘look’ of the school as a site of vibrant creativity and to showcase the calibre of work produced at PSAD.
We plan to have this installed and ready for unveiling just before Easter in April 2025.
From the beginning of the new term in September 2024, prototype tiles will be produced and on display in both campuses as examples of style and size required.
All tiles must be made with the tile cutters, available in the pottery studio, to ensure that they are all the same size, width and depth. [150 x 150 mm]
All tiles must be made in earthenware and decorated with the slips and underglazes available in the studio and glazed in an earthenware transparent glaze.
Design/illustration choices are entirely at the discretion of the creator, but initials must be included in the bottom right hand corner of each tile.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS – FRIDAY 28 FEBRUARY 2025
ALL SUBMISSIONS must be carefully packed in bubble wrap and clearly marked with the maker’s name and contact details.
(We cannot be responsible for any damage or breakages.)
SUBMISSIONS should be left in the clearly marked box in the Disraeli road reception. They will be collected once a week and stored safely.
Tiles left after the deadline will not be accepted.
A professional tile maker will select the tiles that will be used for the panels. We hope to use all the tiles but if we have too many the extras can either be returned to you or donated for sale at the Christmas Fair.
We hope many of you will want to be a part of this exciting new project.
