We are delighted that the PSAD tutor Nigel Murray has won the first prize in Diana Armfield Drawing from Observation art competition, organised by Arts Richmond. All works are on show until 15th March 2024, at Patch Twickenham, 42 York Street, TW1 3BW.
Nigel’s art encompasses drawing, painting, print making and mixed media. He has exhibited work at, amongst other places, the Royal Academy, the Mall Galleries and the Sydney Cooper Gallery in Canterbury. In 2022 he took part in the Sky Landscape Artist of the Year competition. He trained as an illustrator and gained a degree in The History of Drawing and Printmaking from Camberwell. After completing a PGCE he spent many years teaching Art in secondary schools, latterly at Putney High School.
Nigel believes in the profound value of drawing as the foundation of all creative endeavours. He has a wealth of experience which he is happy to share and is always open to learn new things.
